Facebook DM Adventures #1 and #2

Hi, all! I was going to post about something else, along the lines of me being frugal this month to save money and all that...but that can wait. The stuff that happened AFTER I got home from work (Students are on vacation and haven't done JACK but play on the computer) and chilling out with a friend, is much more interesting. Y'all can thank Alliyah Gallows (Ankh), for telling me to post these things.

Days 3, 4, and 5

Tuesday: (Day 3) Nothing much happened, so I didn't post anything, or I was too tired and needed to sleep. It has been about three weeks since I have had a proper full nights sleep.  That is starting to take its toll, but all my stressors are done and gone. Wednesday: (Day 4) The Other Kid: Me do good? Me: What?  Ask that again. You are not a baby. The Other Kid: Me do good? Me: It's not  "me". You know the correct way. You're a smart kid. (Don't try this Aegyo shit with me. You know it doesn't work). The Other Kid: Me... Babe (not their name): IT's NOT " ME "! IT'S " I "! Don't you know English?! Me: ... BABE?! (points to their notebook) Babe (innocent look): Yes, teacher. The Other Kid: Teacher, I do good? Me: Yes, you did. Now finish the rest of your work. You, too Babe. The Other Kid: YAY!! Babe: Okay. Oh my gosh, this year's class. Korean Kindy. Thursday: Day 5 Nothing happened of n...

Day 2

Hi, all. Not much happened today. I have not been sleeping well for the last three weeks. I only slept about 3 hours today according to my Fitbit.  Been awake since around 550 am and could not go to sleep. SO I finished an application that had been stressing me out. Since all my stressors are gone. I think I will be okay. Things that happened today: Finished application and other paperwork My student had me cracking up. One of my six-year-old students. He is Korean, and he speaks rather well but is very high anxiety and loses his shit over the littlest thing but I nonchalantly order him to stop and get back to work, and he does after a few moments. With other teachers, he hams it up but with me, he knows me well enough to know I am not having it. He is brilliant and is hilarious most of the time. Today I was correcting the way one of m students grammar (Kindy), and he corrected her and up and said. "No, it's 'I did good.' Don't you know English?" Mi...

Trying something new... Day 1

Hello.  It's me DN.  I know that I don't blog often, and I am trying to remedy that. I was thinking of making a daily blog, which would be a loose script for my comic/vlog. I will tell you guys when that is up. Things that have happened: Been to China. Disliked (the job) greatly. China was gorgeous (parts I visited), but there are some things I cannot abide. Left without looking back.  I am STILL trying to recover the money I lost. My poor credit card, you have saved my a** so much. I love you, but I need to stop relying on you so much. Devised a plan to pay that sucker off completely in 2.5 years.  With my current job. That is easy enough. Where I work: I work at a Korean Kindergarten Academy. This place is the only academy I will willingly work for again. The boss is cool, so are the people, and he is honest. Hours are super long, though. He is negotiable on that, to a point. I recently came off a six month no Tuesday and Thursday afternoon ...

Heh Heh.... I forgot ^^;;;

HELLO ALL! Long time no see/hear. Yeah…. That last post said I was in China. Yeah, I left that soon after that post because shit got stupid. This was me. I am back in Korea.  I have been back for over a year.  I got a two year contract at a hagwon. …More on that later. I know I said I would never work at one, but dude got me outta China, no questions asked. I can at least stay two years. Reason, I am posting now is because I am going to go for a public school job again soon and I have been hearing a lot of people complaining about desk warming.  I want to type more but it is going to turn into a rant. It’s late and I got a couple of things I have to do real quick. Tomorrow is an early day for me. So I can post more then. Later, DN

Graduation and random stuff

Hello! It was graduation day today for my school.  In February, there is about 2 weeks of school and then they graduate. Each school is slightly different, but in my experience it has been that way.  The children are gone, the teachers either transfer to another school if their limit is up, choose what grade they will work with, if they want to be an English teacher for certain grades, everything gets switched around. English teacher is not usually chosen because of all the paperwork that needs to be done for the native teacher. If the native teacher is a renewal, there is quite a bit less. I gave each of my 6th graders a letter from me that was in Korean and English. They can keep in contact with me on a different blog and my email. One of the girls asked me to marry her again.

Strange, cute,...Awkward

Sup!  Still in Korea. Actually, I leave in May but I am coming back. February in graduation time for schools in Korea.  Some schools leave for WInter vacation and come back in Feb for 2 weeks. You may or may not have class. Different days for different schools, there are different factors that change the dates. Now this is for today. 2 minutes after I started walking home from school. Strange --> Cute --> Akward

Money Diary Day 11 of 30 - 08/26/2013

Nothing much happened today. I had so little sleep. I just wanted to pass out as soon as work was over. Got a message from Pumpkinface, so that was not possible.

Money Diary Day 10 of 30 - 08/25/2013 + Life

Had to go back to Kinkos because one of the color flashcards did not print the correct color. It was supposed to be pink but in turn it printed red. So close to red I could not tell the difference at all. Totally unexpected what happened, though.

Today was pretty much uneventful, It was my longest day. I had 6 classes today and still no projector. The students are being cool though and I think they like it, this way. I will have to figure out more ways for them to practice their lesson, without having to use the projector. But the problem is,we have so many students and that is too  much paper. Went to my first cycling class (Spin class). IT. WAS. SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!

Money Diary Day 7 of 30 - 08/22/2013

Hi! Updating this one before I pass  out in bed. I did pretty good today.

Money Diary day 6 of 30 - 08/21/2013

Sorry, this is a  bit late. It took so long getting home. I did not feel like it afterwards. Expenses Transportaion (all around) - 6,100 KRW (T-money) Transferring to a diffrent mode of public transportation usually cost  no extra money or a few cents.

Summer Vacation ended today...

I walked to school since it was nice and cool. Today, I had no classes. This was very good because we had no projector and I wasn't told what materials to make for the classes I usually have on Tuesday (4th grade). I was chillin'... till my Special Class B walked in the room. These are 1st and 2nd grade children. Me: O__O;;  (What?)

Money Diary Day 5 of 30 - 08/20/2013

Today ended my vacation and I went to work.  It was nice and cool out for once, so I walked to work.  It only takes about 15- 20 minutes.

Money Diary Day 4 of 30 - 08/19/2013

Today was uneventful.  I didn't even go outside. It was in the 90's today anyway, plus I wanted to just chill because I have work tomorrow. New semester begins. I did spend about $7 or 8 bucks on some things on a FB game because I was tired of the stage level I had been on for the last week or so. I was going to do a membership at teh Echo cycling gym class that is  walking distance from me, but I decided to save the 90,000 KRW cash (100,000 credit card).  I have a body weight workout I have that is 30 days and it cost a 3rd of the cost. Today spent - $7-8 Later, DN

Money Diary Day 3 of 30 - 08/18/2013

Today I have not done much.  I have a bit of work I need to do because my vacation ends this Monday. The new semester starts.

Money Diary Day 2 of 30 - 08/17/2013

Today I went to meet a friend. We wanted pancakes and there is only one place we know of to get some good ones like IHOP in Korea. I use a T-Money card inside my phone to pay for transportation on the subway and buses here. You can reload it whenever you need. It's very convenient and cost less than using cash.

Money Diary Day 1 of 30 - 08/16/2013

This is a 30 day test to see how much money I can save by changing little things. Things to know: I get paid once a month as a teacher in South Korea. It's not my full pay, because the students are on summer vacation and I have not had extra classes for a month. Today I got paid, since the 17th falls on the weekend. I can't post the time because my phone battery is dead, but I don't think it matters anyway (never the same time). If I know the time I will post it. This is a daily blog of my day to day expenses in Korea for the month.
